Release the competitive spirit!

Over the last few months while piloting the Xoolon Academy with schools across the country the overwhelming feeling when meeting the children has been their huge enthusiasm for competing. All the children have responded in their own way to both the physical and mental challenges posed and really entered into the spirit of things. Most children are naturally inquisitive about themselves and others and "how things work". I have lost count the number of times I have been asked, even nagged, to get the results posted! We now encourage all to post, online, their own results on their Xoolog and build up a profile themselves. The teachers have been really impressed on how honest they are when assessing themselves, warts and all! The natural tendency is to improve, so lets encourage that natural energy into some subliminal learning. If you are enjoying doing something ,you will learn very quickly what excites and what doesn't. You naturally ask questions, push boundaries and explore new ways to help yourself. Children in particular respond to positive praise and encouragement and I have had great fun with many when filming and recording their efforts! Its a game... its learning.. The teachers and coaches have all said we need "more of this". Releasing this energy has flowed into other areas, like Maths and Science where the data and stats have been used for statistics (ugh!) and human physiology! Whats your experience?
